The Southern Reclamation Consortium comes from the merger of the Land Reclamation Consortia operating in the provinces of Chieti and Campobasso, which were simultaneously ceased, "Left Trigno Reclamation Consortium, Sinello and Osento di Vasto, Frentana Reclamation Consortium of Lanciano and Montana Sangro-Avian Reclamation Consortium of Palena”. The South Reclamation Consortium has its registered office in Vasto where the main administrative and representative office is located. The Consortium performs the functions relating to:
a) construction, maintenance and operation of reclamation and irrigation works;
b) construction, maintenance of roads, aqueducts and rural power lines;
c) maintenance and management of purification plants, if Municipalities, Mountain Communities, Provinces, Regions, Consortia and Companies among other Bodies decide to assign them to them in concession;
d) construction, maintenance and management of energy production plants;
e) construction of works aimed at environmental maintenance and restoration and protection against natural disasters through forestry and hydraulic maintenance;
f) design activities related to the works mentioned in the previous points except for letter c);
g) any other task related to and functional to the defense and maintenance of the territory that is expressly entrusted to the Consortia by the programming acts of the Region, the Basin Authority, the Province, the Municipalities or the Mountain Communities, within the scope of their respective competences.
